LiveBoot transforms your Android device's boot process into a live diagnostic display. Instead of a static animation, the app shows real-time logcat and dmesg outputs directly on your screen as your device starts up, giving you visibility into what's happening under the hood.

Customize every aspect of the boot display to suit your needs. Control which logcat levels appear, select your preferred buffer and output format, and choose whether to include dmesg information. Adjust the number of lines shown, enable or disable word-wrap, and apply color-coded formatting to distinguish different message types at a glance. An optional transparent background overlay lets you blend the diagnostic view with your device's boot animation.

Test your configuration instantly without rebooting your device. This lets you verify settings before they take effect during an actual startup cycle. Keep in mind that test mode shows a simpler view than what appears during real boot—actual behavior may differ once your device restarts and the boot process runs in full.

The app activates after your data partition mounts, so if your device requires decryption or a pattern unlock at startup, the boot display will appear once those steps complete. Root access is required to function; LiveBoot works with SuperSU version 2.40 or newer, or recent Magisk versions. Devices running customized rooted firmwares with init.d support may see variable results, though official support for these setups is not guaranteed.

Advanced users can unlock Pro mode for enhanced transparency options and additional logcat configurations. Pro access is available through in-app purchase or by owning certain older paid versions of the app. A custom script feature lets you run your own scripts during boot instead of the standard logcat and dmesg display, with output rendered in white and red text for easy distinction.

Compatibility spans Android 5.0 and newer, though behavior may vary across different device models and firmware versions. Firmware updates can affect performance. While bootloop risk is minimal, it remains possible—you can safely remove the app via recovery mode if needed. Test functionality may succeed without guaranteeing the same behavior during actual boot, so thorough testing on your specific device is recommended before relying on it for diagnostics.
